Latin Name: Tanacetum vulgare syn. Tanacetum aubiderti, Chrysanthemum vulgare, Chrysanthemum tanacetum.
Plant Family: Asteraceae
Other Names: Common Tansy, Bitter Buttons, Bachelor’s Buttons, Cow Bitter, Golden Buttons, Tanaisie, Wurmkraut, Tanasia, Taneceto & Soglucan Otu.
Description: This versatile kitchen herb tastes a lot like rosemary (but slightly sweeter) and works in a variety of sweet and savoury dishes… Fun fact: Tansy Herb is part of the sunflower family!
SUGGESTED USE
Tansy Herb’s camphor-like scent not only sends insects running when used as an insect repellent it also makes a healthy herbal tea when steeped in boiling water, strained, and sweetened.
